Replace [Name] with the customer's first name. Best sent within 1 hour of completing the job.
In-Person Script (say this at job completion)
"Hey [Name], really appreciate you choosing us today. If you're happy with everything, would you mind leaving us a quick Google review? I can text you the link right now — it only takes a minute and it really helps us out as a small family business."
After they agree, immediately text them the SMS template above so they have the link in hand.
Tips to Get More Reviews
- 1.Ask every single customer — not just the ones you think will say yes. Most happy customers just need to be asked.
- 2.Ask within 1 hour of finishing — the experience is fresh and they're most likely to follow through.
- 3.Text is better than email — open rates for texts are 98% vs ~20% for email. Use the SMS template first.
- 4.Follow up once — if they don't leave a review in 2 days, send one gentle follow-up text.
- 5.Never offer incentives — Google prohibits rewarding reviews. Just ask sincerely.
